Hensel Phelps officially opened the Diverge Innovation Center in Phoenix on September 24, 2025, marking a new chapter in advancing construction technology and cross-industry collaboration. The grand opening welcomed clients, trade partners, academia, technology partners and employees with live demonstrations and interactive tours. Highlights included large-scale 3D printing by Alquist3D, humanoid robotics from UCR and next-generation safety innovations from Hardhat Robotics. The center showcases Hensel Phelps’ commitment to safety, efficiency and sustainability, while serving as a launchpad for collaboration with clients, partners and innovators.
During the event, Thai Nguyen, Director of Innovation at Diverge, underscored the center’s role as more than a showcase, but a hub for transforming how projects are delivered. Guest speakers included Victoria Thomas of Kellymoss Motorsports, professional racer Loni Unser and innovation strategist Tom Goodwin, who shared perspectives on resilience, performance and disruptive technologies. An expert panel on open innovation reinforced Diverge’s philosophy that innovation extends beyond tools and technology, emphasizing mindset, collaboration and continuous improvement across all roles.
