The Design-Build Conference & Expo connects owners, architects, engineers, general contractors, students, subject matter experts and more in the pursuit of improving how we build. Hensel Phelps invites attendees to join us at booth 441 to collaborate and innovate what’s next in design-build.

What is DBIA?

The Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) allows architectural, engineering and construction professionals to collaborate and transform the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry. DBIA offers education and professional certification opportunities that advance best practices across the built environment.

While DBIA hosts several annual conferences, the Design Build Conference & Expo taking place in Las Vegas from November 5 – 7, 2025, is the largest design-build trade show of the year. With unique education and networking opportunities for AEC professionals, academics and students, DBIA offers a platform to propel our industry forward.

High Stakes; Higher Standards

When each project has so much at stake, we don’t gamble; we build with purpose. As a leading general contractor across a variety of industries, our commitment to EXCELLENCE drives us to deliver smarter, faster and more resilient solutions. At this year’s DBIA Conference & Expo, we’re bringing that same energy to the MGM Grand, showcasing how our people and processes push the boundaries of design-build. Join us in Las Vegas to see how we’re raising the bar one bold idea at a time.

VDC: The Ace Up Our Sleeve

We are proud to take the stage at the 2025 DBIA Conference with two powerful sessions that spotlight our leadership in Virtual Design & Construction (VDC). From real-world applications to strategic innovation, our experts will share insights that challenge convention and push the design-build industry forward. 2025 DBIA Design-Build Awards

We deliver excellence, prioritizing safety and uplifting the communities we build in. That is why we are proud to be the #1 industry leader in design-build awards and have received more than 90 DBIA awards since 1999. At the 2025 Design-Build Awards Celebration in Las Vegas, NV, we will be honored to receive design-build awards for two projects.

May Lee State Office Complex

The May Lee State Office Complex (MLSOC) in Sacramento, CA, unites various agencies and departments of the State of California across a 17.3-acre site, comprising approximately 1,250,000 SF of office space and amenities. The project team introduced inventive safety solutions to address unique construction challenges.

Caltech Resnick Sustainability Center

The four-story Caltech Resnick Sustainability Center (RSC) serves as the hub for energy and sustainability research on the Caltech campus and the home of state-of-the-art undergraduate teaching laboratories. Selecting design-build as the project delivery method enabled early collaboration and integrated solutions that were central to the project’s success.
