SEA Concourse C – New Power Center

About the Project

The Hensel Phelps construction team built a new power center in Concourse C at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA). The new system has a large power unit connecting two main power sources. The team also added a new switchboard to replace old equipment and two new power lines to help the system work better. They reconnected old switchboards to the new power center and built a new room for the electrical equipment.

This room has cooling systems and air pressure controls to keep everything safe. The team made the space bigger and added or fixed utilities. They finished all the work while Concourse C stayed open. During the project, the team worked closely with electrical and mechanical experts and the Port of Seattle to ensure everything was done safely—especially when switching over the power systems.
