SEA Alaska North Main Terminal Redevelopment

About the Project

Alaska Airlines and the Port of Seattle are committed to creating a best-in-class passenger experience at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) moving towards an optimum level of service in a redeveloped ticket lobby at Zones 6 and 7, including an expanded and streamlined security checkpoint and improved passenger processing, baggage handling capabilities and renovation of the existing promenade to include additional check-in and office components. Additional project scope included seismic retrofitting of the existing structure; new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, technology, security and fire protection (MEP/T/S/FP) systems; replacement of glass curtainwall systems and complete replacement of interior finishes; and lighting and wayfinding for an enhanced passenger experience.

Delivered with architect of record HOK, the 237,000 SF progressive design-build renovation project required close coordination with Alaska Airlines, the Port of Seattle and primary stakeholders including the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) throughout the three-year construction duration. The heavily phased project featured two primary phases with seven major sub-phases to support ongoing operations and maintain the passenger experience throughout construction.
