About the Project

Hensel Phelps completed the Central Facilities Building (CFB) Renovation and Air Handling Unit (AHU) Replacement project for INOVA. The project was Hensel Phelps’ first contract with INOVA, Northern Virginia’s largest nonprofit healthcare provider. The project took place at the INOVA Center for Personalized Health (ICPH) in Fairfax, Virginia.

Renovation work in the Café Servery provided a new food serving area and upgraded the dining area, dish room and walk-in refrigerator. Renovations to the South Conference area provided new restrooms and updated conference rooms. The renovation included upgrading architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across five floors, totaling 75,000 SF.

AHU replacement work for units 1, 6 and 9 included shutting down and removing five air handling units, reinstalling two units and upgrading two units. During construction, temporary air handling units were provided to service the building.
