About the Project

The $116 million, 179,000-SF, five-story, Multidisciplinary Research Building 1 (MRB1) project consists of wet and dry research laboratories, core laboratory support facilities, a vivarium, and space for faculty and academic support. The project provides one level that is a vivarium and four levels of research laboratories and offices. The project was envisioned to host multiple scientific disciplines engaged in collaborative research. Expandable research laboratory space reduces existing space deficits and is integral to the campus’s strategy for fostering both research and teaching capabilities.
