Hensel Phelps Awarded Contract for New Air Traffic Control Tower at Tucson International Airport

Hensel Phelps is constructing a medium duty Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) and associated Base Building at the Tucson International Airport in Tucson, Arizona. The ATCT will be approximately 225 feet tall structure consisting of 11 levels with the top level being an 550 SF cab. The main structural components of the ATCT shaft will be pre-cast concrete and structural steel panels. The ATCT will be linked to a 13,000 SF base building constructed of cast-inplace
concrete and structural steel. The site will also feature a 500KW-DC Photovoltaic (PV) Array.
