Esports Center at The University of Texas at Dallas

About the Project

The University of Texas at Dallas Esports Center is a dynamic new addition to the Student Union complex, designed to serve as a northern gateway into the campus core. Originally built in 1979 and expanded over time, the Student Union has now been reimagined with the transformation of an underused pub space into a vibrant center for student engagement. The 17,939 SF Esports Center blends competitive and casual gaming into a single, cutting-edge facility. It features a variety of spaces, including an open gaming lounge, multipurpose gaming zones, flexible rooms, broadcast and production studios, administrative offices, food service areas, and an outdoor lawn. Delivered in just over a year, the project showcases how gaming, learning, and campus life can come together in a high-performance environment. The center is expected to serve as a national model for collegiate esports facilities.
