About the Project
Hensel Phelps is delivering the d Women’s Community Correctional Center (WCCC) Kitchen Expansion and Related Improvements project for the Hawaii Community Development Authority in Kailua, Hawaii. The project will modernize and expand the correctional center’s food service operations by providing a new commercial-grade kitchen and supporting site infrastructure that improve operational efficiency, resiliency and long-term facility performance.
The project includes a new 13,000-square-foot standalone kitchen capable of preparing up to 1,400 meals per day while providing a minimum 60-day emergency food storage capacity. Supporting site improvements include a new access road, delivery and unloading areas, utility upgrades, water infrastructure, emergency backup power and other infrastructure enhancements that strengthen the facility’s reliability and daily operations.
Hensel Phelps is delivering the project through and in partnership with G70, Coffman Engineers, Webb Foodservice Design, Security Design Consulting, Umemoto Cassandro and Geolabs, Inc. Together, the team combines local expertise with extensive experience delivering secure public facilities and complex infrastructure projects throughout Hawaii.
