US Embassy Berlin

About the Project

The U.S. Embassy Berlin is a six-story, 147,692 SF diplomatic facility located adjacent to Pariser Platz in Berlin’s historic center. Designed around a landscaped central courtyard, the embassy combines high-performance building systems with stringent security requirements to support critical diplomatic operations. Sustainable features include a green roof, rainwater harvesting, living green walls, radiant heating and cooling, and energy-efficient mechanical systems.
The facility incorporates extensive forced-entry and ballistic-resistant protections, along with advanced technical security measures. Architectural highlights include stone sourced from fourteen countries, a preserved section of the Berlin Wall within the courtyard, a curved glass entry canopy, and a signature glass lantern overlooking the Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag.
