About the Project
The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) selected Hensel Phelps to be the design-builder on the Benjamin P. Grogan and Jerry L. Dove Federal Building project located in Miramar, Florida. Totaling 383,000 SF, this Federal Office Building consolidated the agency’s previous space spread, which was previously spread across the Miami, Miramar and Dade County area in twelve separate locations. With a construction budget of $159 million, the project included enhanced security specifications, an enclosed parking structure and multiple buildings located on the 20-acre site. The project included 787 secured parking garage spaces as well as 400 surface parking spaces. The project was designed and built to LEED Platinum Core and Shell certification standards and LEED Gold for Commercial Interiors certification standards. The project displays Design Excellence as part of the GSA’s Design Excellence Program, which includes sustainable design features and has taken this project to the next level.
