Hensel Phelps’ PHX Sky Train Stage 1 Project Honored with ABC’s Pyramid Award

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) announced that Hensel Phelps’ work on the Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX) Sky Train Stage 1 Fixed Facility project in Phoenix, Arizonia has earned the company a Pyramid Award in the General Contractor Mega Project category of ABC’s Excellence in Construction Awards. Hensel Phelps accepted the award during the 23rd annual Excellence in Construction Awards celebration in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

“This project is an outstanding example of the innovation and commitment to superior craftsmanship that embody merit shop construction,” said Michael D. Bellaman, ABC president and CEO.

The Excellence in Construction awards program is the industry’s leading competition, developed to honor innovative and high-quality merit shop construction projects.  This team has also won recognition for Project of the Year in Transportation and Best Projects Safety Award from ENR magazine, Project of the Year from Associated Minority Contractors of America and collaborated to attain LEED Gold for the airport campus, the first airport to achieve this status.
