Hensel Phelps has been awarded Pena Station Phase 1 infrastructure project located in Denver, Colorado. The project’s primary focus is site development, and it consists of several large-scale civil scopes. The primary scopes consist of deep sanitary sewer installation, potable water installation, overlot fill, and asphalt placement, all working in conjunction to connect commuters to the adjacent rail line, which is scheduled to begin operation to and from the Denver International Airport in April of 2016.

The Hensel Phelps ENR2 project is a classroom and office building at the University of Arizona in Tucson. This unique building consists of five stories and a conference room on the roof level. The structure is cast in place exposed concrete that sits on 92 drilled piers up to 85 feet deep. The exterior of the building is primarily storefront windows screened by steel fins of varying lengths, mounted vertically to the edge of the concrete decks.

On Tuesday, July 21, 2015, the UC Irvine (UCI) Mesa Court Expansion Team celebrated their topping out milestone by hosting a Topping Out Extravaganza. Hensel Phelps celebrated this accomplishment by providing a barbecue luncheon, raffle, and project-themed t-shirts for everyone on site, including Hensel Phelps employees, UCI representatives, and subcontractors.

The Hensel Phelps/SmithGroupJJR/AVRP Studios team joined with various groups of the Chula Vista community to remove clump grass from playing areas in Voyager Park. The clump grass was causing safety issues for those who call Voyager Park home. This small investment in time and effort will make a tremendous difference to organized sports teams, picnickers, and families.
