It All Begins with a Goal

Uniform systems support every aspect of our projects.  Beginning with the end in mind is critical to the overall success of any project. That’s when the project life cycle begins: Planning and Design, Construction, and finally, Ongoing Operations and Maintenance. The life cycle of a facility is potentially long-lasting, extending up to and beyond 50 years, so it’s critical that we begin a project in alignment with our clients’ goals.

Proven Approach

Hensel Phelps process control systems, which have been refined over many decades, consistently produce the results our clients demand. Hensel Phelps’ corporate training process ensures that all employees are properly instructed on each of our project controls systems. The Hensel Phelps project management team ensures that all of these systems are established within the first 30 days of a project.

Life Cycle Cost Analyses

The ultimate goal of life cycle cost analyses is to provide best value by achieving the right balance between first cost (initial expenditures) and life cycle cost in line with the goals and expectations of our clients.

Quality Control Process

Hensel Phelps uses a proven Quality Control process to develop and create project-specific Quality Control Plans for each of its projects. This Quality Control Plan defines how Hensel Phelps will provide the necessary controls, supervision, inspections, testing, and documentation to fulfill the requirements of the project.

Quality Control During Construction

Hensel Phelps implements their comprehensive Six-Step Quality Control proces to maximizes field quality, jobsite efficiency and schedule by ensuring that the right materials are being installed correctly the first time.

Our approach is particularly important when it comes to closeout and commissioning of a project.

Commissioning – Transition to Occupancy

Commissioning takes place at the end of each project; at that time, we make preparations to formally hand over the finished facility to the owner. During the commissioning process, we ensure that all building systems perform together according to the project requirements set forth at the beginning.

Partnership Approach

The Building Belongs to Our Client

We may work on a job for years at a time, so a project can quickly become a part of our lives. We do feel a sense of ownership, certainly, but we always keep in mind who owns the facility  / building. We work knowing that it belongs to our client and the eventual occupants, who will be living and working in it for perhaps the next 50 years.

A building project can be a long-term relationship with many stakeholders, and it’s up to us to take the lead in ensuring everyone is engaged.

Effective Decision Making

Informed, effective decisions are what keep the job moving, and Information Management is a discipline we practice every day. Because of the wide array of markets we work in, we have become experts at sharing information and communicating with our clients, sub-contractors, and other partners.

A Positive Atmosphere

We want our excitement and enthusiasm to be contagious – it’s long been a part of our company-wide culture. We are committed to fostering positive relationships, with the belief that through collaboration, milestones are achieved, landmarks are built and teams inspire performance.
